Angel was our first dobe. She came from Ohio. It was about a 17 hour drive, one way. But it was well worth it. We couldn't have asked for a better dog when we found Angel. She has been the kind of dog everyone should have. She got her name on the trip home. We really should not have made it home. We had car trouble and ended up driving 5 hours with a broken heater core. (Thankfully it wasn't too cold yet). But the real miracle happened when a deer jumped in front of us on the interstate. There is no way we should have missed that deer. But we did and when my hubby and I, with our pounding hearts looked down at Angel, and she looked up at us with an "it will be ok" look, we knew what her name was to be. Angel is a true "Velcro" dog. Wherever you are, she  is there. She also likes to sit in everyone's laps like a puppy. And kisses are her specialty. She is sometimes obsessive with her need to give them. Sometimes if she can't kiss someone's face she can be quiet noisy. She will bark loudly to show her displeasure. More times than not, this tends to scare people. I wish people would realize that just because a dobe barks, it doesn't mean it is a bad dog. Lots of dogs bark and that doesn't make them bad. It is important to socialize your dobe well though. Angel has been through many obedience classes and the agility class. Sometimes we enter a class just to get some extra socializing. And my dobes go almost everywhere with me. If I try to leave home without Angel, she will cry and cry and drive my hubby insane,,,hehehe. Enjoy her pics.
